Steve serves as the lead pastor of International Evangelical Church (IEC), a non-denominational evangelical church in Addis Ababa. IEC is a congregation of over 1,000 members from more than 60 nationalities. The church ministers to children, youth, young adults, and adults through discipleship, community outreach, and missions. The church leadership and several members serve, with ministries, the many orphans who are homeless. Over the next year, Steve and IEC propose to strengthen the ministries of the church by working to train national pastors through the national Evangelical Believer’s Council. Steve and his church do quarterly training for over 300 pastors and church leaders. Steve and IEC also plan to provide training for the Evangelical College that meets on the church campus with over 600 students (90% of pastors in Ethiopia have no training). 

Prayer Requests (updated 7/31/24):

• Pray for the “Send Africa Conference” in September which will include leaders from Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. The goal is to see the church in Africa send people to unreached areas of Africa.
• Pray for healthy rhythms of ministry and rest for the family as they return to Ethiopia in August after a brief home visit.
• Pray for Samuel as he remains in the U.S. to attend Samford this fall.
